Dr. Syed Mobashshir Alam is a board-certified internist with advanced training in gastroenterology. He provides comprehensive care for general GI conditions, with a special focus on foregut disorders affecting the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine.
Dr. Alam was drawn to gastroenterology for its unique blend of diagnostics and therapeutic procedures. He finds endoscopy especially fulfilling, as it allows him to both identify and treat conditions directly, improving patient outcomes in real time.
Patients can expect a warm, welcoming experience centered on empathy, clear communication, and collaborative care. Dr. Alam takes time to listen, explain, and ensure patients feel informed and involved every step of the way.
He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, his internal medicine residency at Creighton University in Omaha, and earned his BA/MD through the accelerated six-year program at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
Outside of work, Dr. Alam enjoys hiking, running, weightlifting, basketball, world history, astronomy, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. Most of all, he values quality time with his family.
