Johnna completed her Bachelor of Science of Nursing at Research-Rockhurst University in 1985. For the next 10 years she worked for Research Medical Center on a Cardiac step-down unit. In 1992, she received her Master’s Degree in Science and Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She then worked for Research College of Nursing as an Assistant Professor teaching undergraduate nursing students. In 1996 she completed a Post-Masters Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Missouri. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by American Nurses Credentialing Center. She helped start and taught in the nurse practitioner program at Research-Rockhurst University. Later went on to start up and operate a School-based Free Health Clinic within the Independence School District. She has worked in two different Family Practices in the area for 18 years and last 7-1/2 years in Gastroenterology.   She lives with her husband, locally. They have two married children and 4 grandkids that all live in close proximity. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to lake and traveling.
